Cookie & Consent Policy
Last updated June 28, 2026
This page explains what Yerba stores in your browser, why, and how you stay in control. In plain language: essential storage keeps the service working, analytics are optional, and in the EU and UK they only run after you opt in.
What we store on your device
Like most websites, Yerba keeps a small amount of information in your browser using cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage). We use these for two very different purposes, and we treat them differently:
- Essential storage. The pieces that make the service work at all: keeping a creator signed in, remembering your consent choice, holding a few preferences, and protecting accounts and pages from abuse. These run on every visit because the site cannot function without them.
- Analytics and measurement. Optional signals that help a creator understand how their page performs: views, real click-throughs, and broad engagement patterns. These are never required to use Yerba, and in places that require opt-in consent they only run after you say yes.
How the EU and UK consent gate works
If you are visiting from the EU, the UK, or another place with similar rules, non-essential analytics do not run until you give clear, affirmative consent. We do not treat continued browsing, scrolling, or the mere presence of a banner as agreement, and we do not load analytics in the background while you decide.
Until you opt in, only the essential storage above is active, which is what keeps the page working and remembers your choice. Outside those regions, analytics may run by default, and you can still opt out at any time as described below.
What does each cookie category do?
- Authentication and security. Keep a signed-in creator logged in across pages, maintain a session, and help us detect bots, scraping, and other abuse so analytics and billing stay honest. These persist for the length of a login session, typically a rolling period of around 30 days, and renew while a creator stays active.
- Preferences. Remember small choices, including your consent decision, so we do not ask again on every visit. This choice is stored persistently so the consent prompt does not reappear on each visit, until you clear it.
- Analytics and measurement. Count page views and unique real click-throughs and surface broad engagement trends to the creator. We favor pseudonymized, aggregated signals, we keep these to a minimum, and we do not run advertising cookies or build advertising profiles. These signals are session-scoped and short-lived rather than long-term identifiers.
Which third parties does Yerba use?
Yerba runs on infrastructure operated by other companies, so some storage is tied to the providers that help us deliver the service: our hosting and infrastructure provider, our database provider, and the providers that support security and measurement. We describe them in general terms here because the specific providers can change, and we engage them by contract to handle information consistently with our policies. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. The Privacy Policy explains who processes information and how to request the current list, and our Trust & Safety page covers how we handle reported abuse.
How to change or withdraw your cookie consent
You are in control, and you can change your mind at any time. You can decline analytics in the consent prompt that appears on your first visit, and clearing cookies and site data in your browser settings removes your saved choice and brings that prompt back on your next visit. You can also block cookies and local storage directly from your browser. We honor recognized browser opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, where applicable law gives them effect.
Blocking essential storage may stop parts of the service from working, for example keeping a creator signed in. Declining analytics does not affect your ability to view or chat with a page.
